At the RN Music Studio, we believe in teaching from a space of GRACE, which allows you to step into the studio just as you are. Embracing mistakes as part of the learning process, we create an environment where you can freely explore your musical talents without fear or judgment.

GROWTH is at the heart of our studio's philosophy. We've set aside the pressure of perfection and replaced it with a focus on holistic learning. As you progress, you'll be amazed at your musical evolution, playing and singing not merely with technical mastery, but with genuine emotion and deep passion.

Together, we'll celebrate each VICTORYβ€”those beautiful milestones that bring a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. These victories are the stepping stones towards your musical aspirations and dreams, and I'll be there every step of the way, cheering you on.

Hi there!

I’m so honored that you’re here. Seeking out a professional music coach is an exciting step! This tells me you -or your child- has a passion for music and a desire to learn and grow and pursue those passions with excellence.

It’s important to find a coach who challenges you, but who also listens to your individual needs and concerns, and will encourage your unique artistic expression and growth. - I hope you’ll allow me the privilege of being that person in your musical journey.

I’d love to continue this conversation with you over a 30min lesson we’re offering at 50% off.

CAROLYN CLINE (she/her)

Carolyn is a multi-stylistic musician, songwriter, pianist and violinist with over 8 years of teaching experience.

Carolyn's passion for piano began at an early age, when she eagerly begged her parents for lessons at just seven years old. By 11, she landed her first accompanying gig, showcasing her natural talent. At nine, her love for music expanded to the violin, where she quickly advanced through orchestra ranks, earning a spot as a first violinist by her sophomore year of high school. Carolyn went on to graduate from Capital University with a degree in music, studying piano under the renowned Dr. Tianshu Wang, along with other esteemed mentors.

As a private music instructor, Carolyn understands each student has different goals, abilities, and talents. She enjoys incorporating pieces and activities into the lessons that the students would prefer while still setting a standard for music theory, ear training, and proper technique.

She understands learning an instrument is a long and challenging process, and is there to help her students utilize however much time they can offer towards their instrument while maintaining their enjoyment.

RACE LERMA (they/them)

Race is a multi-instrumentalist and passionate educator with over 20 years of experience in violin performance. Their musical journey began in youth orchestras and continued through regional and university ensembles across Northwest and Central Ohio. Race earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Industry from Capital University, with violin as their primary instrument.

In addition to their classical training, Race has spent over a decade immersed in the world of fingerstyle guitar, performing at small venues and hosting open mics in both Findlay and Columbus. Their instrumental versatility extends to bass guitar, ukulele, piano, mountain dulcimer, and mandolin, with more than ten years of hands-on experience. Since moving to Columbus in 2020 to teach full time, Race has also developed proficiency in clawhammer and upstroke banjo, offering lessons in these distinct folk styles.

Known for their deep curiosity and knowledge of music theory and history, Race naturally incorporates these elements into their teaching to create rich, well-rounded learning experiences. They are especially passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment for all studentsβ€”particularly young learners, LGBTQ+ students, and those who benefit from extra patience or individualized learning accommodations.

Race’s approachable, student-centered style helps students feel seen, supported, and inspiredβ€”whether they're picking up an instrument for the first time or developing their craft across multiple styles.
